Tip: Worried About Seasickness? Here’s What You Can Do!
Seasickness can be uncomfortable, but there are several ways to reduce the risk and ensure you can fully enjoy your trip to Klein Curaçao. Here are some tips:
Preparation
- Medication: Consider taking a seasickness pill. Take it about an hour before departure so it has time to take effect.
- Ginger: Ginger is a natural remedy that helps prevent nausea. You can bring ginger tablets, ginger tea, or ginger cookies.
- Wristbands: There are special acupressure wristbands available that can help prevent seasickness. These bands apply pressure to specific points on your wrists that can reduce nausea.
During the Trip
- Fresh Air: Stay outside on deck as much as possible and avoid stuffy areas. Fresh air and looking at the horizon can help reduce nausea.
- Light Breakfast: Eat lightly before the trip. Avoid fatty or heavy foods that could upset your stomach.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can worsen seasickness symptoms.
- Focus on the Horizon: Looking at a fixed point in the distance, such as the horizon, can help your brain better process the boat's movement and reduce nausea.
- Stay Calm: Try to stay calm and take deep breaths. Stress and anxiety can worsen seasickness symptoms.
With these tips, you can reduce the risk of seasickness and hopefully enjoy your trip to Klein Curaçao to the fullest. If you do get seasick, the BlueFinn crew is there to help you as much as possible. Rest assured, it will pass as soon as you’re back on solid ground or once you jump into the water upon arrival.
